We at NINE DRAGONS have translated the Q&A from the magazine into English, we hope fans can learn a little bit more about them and what they think of each other. If you would like to see the full interview and the other photos from the magazine, you can purchase the March 2024 issue of SODA from Amazon.

Shimura Reo, was born in 1999 and is from Tokyo.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Reo: Boiled chicken breast and protein. It’s for working out. Then, I guess I’d buy an energy drink?
Q: What about Furukawa-san is attractive to you?
Reo: He’s good with advice. I’m not exactly good at putting it into words but he’s helped me with that kind of thing. I’m the dance leader and Tsuyoshi is leading the vocals so we can talk about that as well.

Furukawa Tsuyoshi, was born in 2000 and is from Tokyo.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Tsuyoshi: Jasmine tea, probiotic milk drink (T/N: e.g. Yakult), vegetable juice, some kind of chicken from the snack case and ice cream. Chocolate is my favorite kind.
Q: What about Jean-san is attractive to you?
Tsuyoshi: He’s a cheerful mood maker. As he’s the only one in the group that’s mixed race, he has a unique way of thinking and touch. He calls Mister Donut (T/N: a donut chain), Mis-donuts. You don’t hear that often, right? Haha.

Jean Kayto, was born in 2000 and is from Tokyo.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Jean: That’s a tough one. First off, I’d get my usual 126-yen canned coffee, a pizza flavored steamed bun, I love things like gummies, haha, so some kind of candy like Mentos and mints. Then I’d buy these Apple flavored Anpanman gummies that I’m into recently.
Q: What about Iijima-san is attractive to you?
Jean: All in all, he’s a pretty real and straightforward kind of guy so his feelings show really easily. He’s always such a warm-hearted, kind, and sincere guy.

Iijima Hayate, was born in 2001 and is from Tokyo.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Hayate: I really love ice cream from the convenience store, so I’d just buy a lot of that, haha. There’s a new flavor ever week so I always get it. In summer there’s a lot of ice-based ones, and in winter there’s a lot of Daifuku ones.
Q: What about Ito-san is attractive to you?
Hayate: Whatever happens to him, he doesn’t let it get to him. Even on a big programme, I’ve never seen him bothered by it. It’s pretty nice to have a difference like that, since it’s something not often seen.

Ito Sougo, was born in 2003 and is from Chiba.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Sougo: If I’m going home on the shinkansen after work, then a set of beer and otsumami (T/N: Snacks you have with alcohol). A beer on the shinkansen after work tastes the best.
Q: What about Tanaka-san is attractive to you?
Sougo: I don’t think I need to really talk about how he looks by now, but he’s someone I can put my faith into and rely on. He’s always by my side, just like a train passing by. He’s as important to me as trains are.

Tanaka Koki, was born in 2003 and is from Tokyo.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Koki: Tea, gum, and mints. Then, if there was some kind of yamaimo side dish, I’d get that. It’s a must for me to be snacking on gummies or some kind of snacks. Then I’d get some ice cream! I like gelato or the kind you can eat in one bite.
Q: What about Ikeda-san is attractive to you?
Koki: He approaches every experience with a stoic learner’s mind. He knows how to present himself, and his style is so goooood.

Ikeda Hyoma, was born in 2003 and is from Hokkaido.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Hyoma: I love energy drinks, so I’d end up buying one. Then, a banana flavored protein drink, cola flavored gummies, mentaiko onigiri, and a chicken from the snack case.
Q: What about Matsumura-san is attractive to you?
Hyoma: I can’t even believe he’s younger than me with how chill he is, the things he says and the words he chooses, more than attractive per se I would say he’s a true man at heart.

Matsumura Tomoya, was born in 2004 and is from Nagano.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Tomoya: Protein, salmon onigiri, and boiled chicken breast. About two hours after lunch, I always eat a boiled egg, so if I add that all up it should total to about 968 yen. I’d have change left, so I’d put it in the donation box, haha.
Q: What about Shibazaki-san is attractive to you?
Tomoya: I don’t really need to explain he’s attractive in terms of looks, but his height really adds on to it. He’s attentive and kind, even going as far as to buy snacks for me.

Shibazaki Raku, was born in 2004 and is from Chiba.
Q: If you had 1000 yen (approx. $10) what would you buy at the convenience store?
Raku: If I’m considering the season, a hot tea and oden. I’d get 5 pieces of daikon (T/N: A type of radish), and chikuwa (T/N: a kind of fishcake). If you put yuzukoshou (T/N: a condiment paste made of yuzu and chili) it’s super delicious.
Q: What about Shimura-san is attractive to you?
Raku: He’s the oldest and our dance leader, he’s always got our backs and is leading us. Also, it’s pretty nice of him that he is chivalrous enough to pay when we go out to eat.

We hope that you’ve gotten some new information about the boys from this short Q&A. We are looking very forward to New Rise and the surprises SUPER★DRAGON will bring, so keep an eye out for more translations!
